Should I receive cardio-oncology testing before or after my cancer treatment?

You should undergo testing both before and after treatment. We strongly recommend that all patients receive a cardiological assessment prior to beginning cancer treatment to determine their potential risks for cardiac complications, and testing should continue throughout your therapy as cardiac problems can occur for years after your therapy begins. 

What happens if I should experience heart failure during my cancer treatment?

If you experience heart failure during treatment, we recommend that you discontinue your existing cancer treatment and begin standard heart treatments straight away.
